Favorite Childhood Movie

Posted in Blogathon, Random

Blogathon Day 21: Favorite movie as a child?

This is hard. For me as a child I LOVED pretty much any Disney movies, some of my favs were (and let’s be honest still are): Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and Aladdin but The Little Mermaid was the first one I saw in theaters so why not talk about that one.

I think after every child (and even adult) saw the movie they wanted to be a mermaid. Honestly as a child (and now) I would have traded places with Ariel SO quickly. Beyond me just wanting to be a mermaid, I’ve always loved the art of the older Disney movies. Don’t get me wrong, I love how technology has progressed as well but there’s something extra enjoyable about watching the older movies and how they did things then.

What is your favorite movie from your childhood?

Likes and Dislikes of My Desk

Posted in Blogathon, Personal

Blogathon Day 19: Share a photo of your desk/work area what do you like/dislike about it.

I’ve already shared my desk/work area in My Gaming/Office Tour and Setup post, but this is the perfect time to share what I like and don’t like about it!

In terms of likes, I love having an L shaped desk. It allows for so much more space for things that I want to keep on my desk and it’s so easy to organize. Since I also have 3 monitors it makes it easier to keep everything actually on my desk without feeling crammed.

Now in terms of dislikes I wish my desk was actually just a tad bit bigger or even just had a left side to it (so more like a U or a C instead of a L). I also wish it was a bit sturdier, it’s not made out of the most durable material but it gets the job done and so far has functioned well for me for almost a year.

What do you like or dislike about your desk area?

3 Monthly Goals

Posted in Blogathon, Personal

Blogathon Day 18: 3 Monthly goals for February (What are some of your bad habits?)

For today’s post I decided to use yesterday’s prompts since I changed it since it was my birthday! So here we go.

1. Being more active

I keep saying how I want to start running again, but I keep not doing it. Whether it’s joining a gym, going for a run, going for a walk, or just working out at home I’d like to be more active next month.

2. Eat better/meal prep more

I mentioned before that I lost about 35lbs last year and that I’d like to lose more this year. One way that I lost the weight was just by meal prepping and trying to eat a bit healthier.

3. Continue making content

Whether that’s updating this blog weekly, uploading weekly videos on YouTube, or streaming 5-6 days on Twitch I want to continue the grind in February!

What are some of your goals for next month?

5 Shows I Binge Watch

Blogathon Day 16: What show(s) can you binge watch over and over?

It’s no secret that I have a few favorite shows that I binge watch on a yearly basis. Here are some of my favorite shows to binge watch (almost) every year!

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

This probably doesn’t come as a shock to anyone, but I love the tv show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I watch it yearly, sometimes more than once a year. It’s my favorite show and one of my favorite shows to binge watch if I don’t know what else to watch.

2. Veronica Mars

Another one of my all time favorites! Although the show only had 3 seasons (and a recent movie!) it’s still a show I love to watch. I just love Kristen Bell in this show.

3. The X-Files

I got into this show because of my mom, she was constantly told  that she looked like Scully (she really does!) and I ended up getting into it too. With the series being back now, I love going back and watching the older seasons.

4. Game of Thrones

Although the show isn’t over yet (only one more season to go *sad face*) I enjoy watching the earlier seasons to see how far the characters and even the cast themselves have come! It’s also handy to do before a new season since I usually forgot everything from the previous season 😛

5. Sailor Moon

One of my favorite animes and just one of my favorite shows overall. I love watching the older seasons of this series since it was a show I loved so much as a child.

Of course there are more than 5 shows that I could binge watch, but these are just a few! What are some of your favorite shows to binge watch over and over?

5 Things I Couldn’t Live Without

Posted in Blogathon, Random, Tech

Blogathon Day 14: 5 things you couldn’t live without (not including living things).

Obviously these are things that I could live without if I needed to, but here are some of things that I just love and would prefer to not live without.

1. My computer

I feel like both my desktop computer and laptop can both fit into this category, but just a computer in general is not something I’d want to live without. I use my computer for everything. Gaming, editing videos, streaming, etc etc.

2. My phone

Having a smart phone now-a-days is just a huge convenience. I can use it as a map, to make a call (do people call people anymore anyways lol?), text, take photos, etc. I currently have an iPhone 7 with a pop socket on the back (seriously love this thing) and I just love it.

3. Nintendo Switch

Okay I could live without this if I needed to … but since I bought my Nintendo Switch last month I’ve just been so in love with it. I love that I can game on the go or I can plug it into my monitor or tv and game with others or just alone with the big screen.

4. Lipgloss

Finally something not tech related, but I just love lipgloss or lipstick. I love using a subtle nude color or a bright red, I feel like it really brings a look together.

5. Blankets

I love blankets. I have a lot and I’m usually always sitting at my desk with a blanket in my lap or curled up in bed watching tv with a blanket or two.

So those are just a few things that I couldn’t live without, what are some things you couldn’t live without?

3 Dinner Guests

Posted in Blogathon, Random

Blogathon Day 13: You’re having a dinner party and you can invite 3-5 celebrities (dead or alive) to join you, who do you invite? (don’t ask how the dead can eat lol)

1. Sarah Michelle Gellar

I don’t think this comes as a shock to anyone that knows me, but I’d have Sarah Michelle Gellar! I’ve loved her since her Buffy days, and she just seems so lovely (would also be neat if her husband was there too!). They’re serious relationship goals, and they’re both foodies! So I feel like they’d be perfect dinner guests.

2. Kate Becksinsale

Another celebrity I admire, I first saw her in the movie Underworld and have loved her ever since. She’s another amazing actress and she’s very intelligent, but also has a silly side (she’s known for playing pranks on set!) so I feel like she’d be a fun guest.

3. Colbie Caillat

I’ve loved her music since her hit song Bubbly was topping the charts back in the early 2000’s. She still creates beautifully written music that either puts me in a good mood or causes me too many feels haha. I’d love to have her as a dinner party guest just to get a chance to sit and chat with her about her music.

Of course there are plenty of other celebrities that I’d love to have a dinner party with, but these 3 are definitely at the top of the list! Who would you love to have dinner with?

Day in the Life

Posted in Blogathon, Personal

Blogathon Day 12: Day in the Life (Original prompt Favorite thing to do to wind down?)

Was supposed to do a Day in the Life post a few days ago, but ended up not being able to so I decided to make that my prompt for today! So here’s how my day today went.

So the original plan was to wake up between 9-10am, but I ended up not falling asleep until after 5am. Oops. So after I (finally) woke up around 12pm (OOPS) I made lunch.

Started bowling some water (I didn’t realize how dirty the stove was … woops I promise I cleaned it after!). For lunch I was craving some good ‘ol boxed mac and cheese so I made that. I don’t eat it often, but today was a lazy-ish day. I originally planned on making a nice cup of coffee if I woke up early, but that didn’t happen. I decided to grab the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha that I had in the fridge instead!

Drank it out of my awesome Buffy mug. The mug changes with heat, but sadly I was in the mood for cold coffee that morning instead. Basically sipped on the coffee while I waited for my food to finish.

Let’s Go to Hogwarts

Posted in Blogathon, Random

Blogathon Day 11: What is one place you’d love to travel to? Real or fictional.

Hogwarts, no contest! If Hogwarts was a legitimate place I’d love to go there. The castle itself is just so gorgeous on the outside, but the inside looks even more breath taking. I’d love to run around Hogwarts and explore some of my favorite places that I’ve read in the books and also seen in the movies.

I guess until I actually get my letter though, I’ll have to settle for experiencing Harry Potter at Universal.

My Graphic Design Degree

Posted in Blogathon, Personal

Blogathon Day 10: If you went to school, what did you go to school for?

So I originally got my AA from a community college and then after that I went on to get my Bachelor’s degree, which I’ll mostly be talking about now. In January 2007 I started attending Florida State University, it was the only university I applied (which was dumb, but thankfully I got in!) and I was excited to move away from home and go to school.

The degree I actually got is a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Studio Art with a concentration and graphic and web design, although I don’t really use my degree right now as my job I have no regrets about getting it. I LOVED attending FSU and I loved their design program. I learned a lot from my professors as well as my fellow classmates and over the last few years have toyed with the idea of going back to school to get my Master’s (maybe one day). You can see some of the art I made for class above (one is a digital poster and the other is a self portrait painting), I still have a lot of the artwork I made in school and even some of the paintings I did for some of my classes still hang on the walls in my office.

My 2 favorite classes that I took were probably photography and painting. Photography was something I was always interested in and the class allowed me to not only learn how to take and process photos with a film camera, but also I got to use my Photoshop skills in editing the photos myself. My painting class I took with my figure drawing professor, so I already knew her which made things a lot easier. I learned A LOT from that class and really want to get back into painting.

If you want to see any of my classwork from when I was in school I have some of the work on my Flickr page.
